International Friendship Day Gift Exchange

In honor of July 30th being International Friendship Day, I decided to put together a gift exchange where anypony could join and, well, exchange gifts!

http://www.elfster.com/exchange/view/5124350/802ff2/

You can join up there.  Anyone from anywhere on Earth (or the moon, or Equestria... whatever) can join and participate.  When the randomized drawing happens you can exchange addresses with your match, so that everyone doesn't have to see everyone's full address (because weird stalkers and that kinda noise... we kinda want to avoid that).

So join up!  Give and receive!  Sharing is caring, and friendship is magic!

Edit:  FAQs will be answered here.  If you have any questions that aren't answered, please comment to ask them.

Q. How does this work?
A. One signs up to the Elfster group before the sign up deadline.  It's free and simple and requires nothing more than a name and an email address.  Then when the deadline hits, Elfster randomly matches up people in the group to exchange gifts.  The matched people can then exchange addresses and discuss any questions or concerns they have with each other in the two weeks before International Friendship Day.  And then when the big day rolls around, everyone should head out to ship off their gifts!  Of course, due to varying shipping times this means that it'll be sporadically over the following month or so that people receive their gifts, but there's not much to do about that.

Q. Why isn't there a spending limit?
A. So that people can be as extravagant as they want!  Just remember:  It's perfectly fine to spend as much as you want, but don't expect it in return.  It's just as fine to send something simple, even free to you (like a picture you drew, for instance).  It's about sharing friendship.

Q. Will you be splitting into groups depending on country allowing for easier postage?
A. Nope, that would kinda defeat the purpose of International Friendship Day.  Postage shouldn't be *too* expensive, especially if your gift is small and lightweight.  If you really can't afford postage, you could always do something digitally.  Just remember that it's about giving, not so much receiving.

Q. Does this gift have to be pony-related?
A. Nope.  Ponies are always a good choice though.

Q. Could a game on Steam be a gift?
A. Certainly!  But I'd wait to see who you get matched up with first, to make sure they have Steam and a computer powerful enough to handle the game that you would like to get them.

  5. I think I will do this. The only part I am worried about is whether I'll have the money when the time rolls around!

  12. New questions added to the FAQ above. @Marcoooootje1: as is already in the FAQ, shipping really isn't that costly, and once you get matched up you could always call up your local post office or similar shipping center and inquire about cost. If it really does come out to more than you can handle, go for something able to be sent digitally. Like digital art, or a game, or buying something from a webstore based in their country and having it shipped to them from there to help mitigate shipping costs.
